Joint Meeting CFUW-Calgary and Calgary North

GENDER EQUALITY AND THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTORSHIP
Please join us on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Parkdale United Church, 2919 – 8 Avenue NW for a lively presentation and discussion about Gender Equality and the Importance of Mentorship.
“Change goes from the unthinkable, to the impossible, to the inevitable...but someone has to move it along.”
(Laura Liswood, Secretary General, Council of Women World Leaders)
Guest speakers include Linda Southern-Heathcott: President and CEO Spruce Meadows, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors ATCO and Canadian Utilities, Board Chair Akita Drilling, Olympic Equestrian and Lori Williams: Associate Professor and Student Advisor, Department of Economics Justice and Policy Studies, Mount Royal University.

Linda Southern-Heathcott will address her experiences in the corporate and equestrian realms. Lori Williams will outline the issue in education and gender equality in society as a whole.

The topic of Gender Equality was inspired by 50/50 Day (50-50Day.org) which took place on May 10, 2017. This was a global day of thousands of film screenings, discussions, and action in 146 countries.

In addition, a six-month pilot mentorship program, involving 14 participants matching women with leaders in engineering, construction, finance, academics and business development, has been recently launched in Calgary.

Linda Olsen of Global News and Mary Moran, President and CEO of Calgary Economic Development have expressed interest in this event. We need a strong showing of members and guests to showcase the topic and OUR CLUB.

PLEASE BE THERE!!!!
